I just wanted to take a moment and write to you concerning the Aura paint that Benjamin Moore has brought to market. When you first introduced the notion of trying this product, I was to say the least a bit reluctant.  After all, as a professional painting company, it is often difficult for me to justify $50.00 per gallon paint! That said, my partner and I finally decided to give it a try with an exterior one story stucco job in desperate need of painting.

We started with the usual preparation: wash, caulk, etc., and began to paint.  The first hour or so we really did not notice too much of a difference.  However, after six hours or so, it dawned on us that we were much further ahead with the job than we would normally be – much further.  Now, we took this job on with just the two of us to get a true feel for this new Aura paint. The paint is in a word – incredible!

We were done in far less time than if we were using our standard brand of paint.  The coverage is unbelievable, and this is where the cost savings come into the picture.  I am not a rocket scientist. However, I do know that if I use two gallons of paint that cost me $22 to $25 per gallon, which normally take about 2 coats – compared to one gallon of Aura that costs $50 per gallon – and as God is my witness, does a wonderful coverage in just one coat, H-e-l-l-o… get the picture?   As my partner put it when we were finished – “it’s like having a third painter!”

We now have used Benjamin Moore’s Aura paint in nearly every job we’ve booked of late, explaining to customers exactly what it is they are paying for – totaling $200 at most.  The interior paint simply makes life wonderful as a painter – as it covers like nothing I’ve ever used before.  It has allowed us to actually cut back on our labor costs and hang onto a little more profit.  Best of all, we know that we are giving our customers the very best protection for their investment.  It’s an easy sale, and I encourage everyone to give this Aura paint a serious try.

I finally finished painting my two rooms with the Ben paint. I have to say that it is great stuff! It is thick enough to cover really well with one coat and not spatter everywhere, but not too thick that it won’t roll well.

The odor is not bad at all. In fact, my son, age 4, slept in his room that night. I did crack the window and leave his ceiling fan on for extra ventilation. I will certainly make the trip to Haines City next time I need paint.
